May 27th, 1967, in Cordoba, Veracruz,
Mexico. Her parents, Ildefonso and Maria Antonieta are also talented artists. At the age
of five, the family moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico,

century Venetian style of mask making and using
her own self-created techniques to design
sculptures, life casts, finishing them with
ancient looking patinas using gold or silver
leaf, oil paints and Eco Friendly materials for
her creations, keeping true to her original
ancient art techniques.
Married to a Dutch man, Johan de Quant, and
mother to their son Johannes, the family was
lured to the Monterey Peninsula by the beauty of
the landscape and the abundance of art; they
had opened an Art Gallery in Carmel,
California, with two other local talented
artists. Carla and her family currently
enjoy living in Placer County, California.
Her husband, Johan deQuant, has a heart of an
artist and is a true visionary. He carries
his talents into the designs and creative ideas.
